Easton's Big Day

Easton woke up to our traditional breakfast in bed.  The boys love this and even if they wake up early they will wait for their breakfast!  Easton was greeted by all of us plus Granny, Bud, Grandma Janet, and Grandpa Tim.  He usually does not like a lot of attention, but this morning he was loving it!
On to opening his presents.  He was so excited o see what his brothers got him.  He had been wanting a military action set for months and was pleased to see his brothers (or mom) was listening.  He even got a camouflage scripture case.  We figure this will entice him to always remember to bring his scriptures to Church!

Easton preparing to get baptized.  It is hard to believe that this little boy is eight!  he is growing up so fast.  He couldn't stop smiling the entire day.
Easton had the most beautiful baptism.  Davis gave a talk on Baptism and Papa gave a talk on the Holy Ghost.  Easton invited his friends from school and was surrounded by people who love him.  Both sets of grandparents made the trip to be a part of his special day.  The proudest moment for me was when Easton was being welcomed to the Primary by Sister McFadden, she called up Davis and Cade as well.  She made all three boys stand there as she told everyone how much she admired these boys for the reverence they bring each week to Primary.  She said she could tell by the way they behaved that they understood the Gospel and had a testimony of the Savior.  As a mother, what more can you ask for?  This summer I thought I understood why we were suppose to stay in Texas (you all remember our crazy move story!) but at the baptism, I realized there was another reason.  This is where my boys are to grow into strong missionaries and develop into the young men the Lord needs them to be!  They sure are doing a great job and we are so blessed to have them in our lives.  Thanks to all who participated in this special day and traveled here to be with us.  It means so much to have such great friends and family.

Eastons first day of Scouts

Easton was allowed to go to scouts two days early because we were having a Rain gutter Regatta and there had not been one for 6 years.  He was so excited as Bud and Granny took him to the scout shop to buy his uniform like they have with all the boys.  I think Bud's favorite part of coming out for the baptisms is that he gets to attend the very first scout meeting with each boy.  Easton especially was excited to have Bud with him.  He was a little nervous for the race, but it was all in vain because apparently the Holdstocks are filled with a lot of hot air.  Easton cam in second overall missing the championship by just a tenth of a second!  It was extremely close.  Davis put in a good performance as well making it to the semi-finals.  Easton could not believe that this was his first meeting and he almost won!  The best part was listening to all of the boys in Easton's new den cheer for him as he raced each time.  Easton is so excited to be eight and be able to finally go to scouts and enjoy all the fun things he has seen his brothers do over the past three years.  I hope he continues to have such fun.

Easton Baptism pictures and Foster

I can't believe Easton is old enough to be baptized soon.  He really is growing up so fast!  He is such an incredible example to us each and every day.  He has been a challenging child at times but also the most spiritual member of our family.  He is bold and not afraid to tell his friends what he believes.  I love how he talks to us about every detail of his day good or bad.  I mean every detail!  He loves being an older brother and takes good care of Foster.  His favorite thing to say about Foster is "he is cute, but a little bit annoying!"  When we took Easton in to have his Baptism pictures taken, he saw a firetruck and thought Foster would look cute on it so we had their picture taken together.  Easton makes life so interesting and exciting.  He loves learning and challenges himself at school.  He is the only kid I know who comes home and gives himself homework.  He will sit down and practice his writing because he wants his handwriting to improve or he reads for hours and we have to tell him to stop!  I think he just wants to pass his brothers in their reading level!  What joy it is to have a child who has such emotion and passion.  We are so blessed by him!

The photographer asked if she could use this picture as a display in their store and when we asked Easton if it was ok, we were surprised that he not only said yes but was excited about it!
Easton usually doesn't like his picture taken but was all smiles this day.  He had a great time.
Easton really loves his little brother!  They have such a cute relationship!

It is a good thing that the clothes cover Foster up because he was not dressed nice that day because we were not planning on having his picture taken.  This was a dirty rough looking boy before the firefighter outfit and thank goodness for the hat!
Of course he tries to take it off!

Easton is the only one playing an organized sport this season which has made our lives so nice on Saturdays!  Cade and Davis are taking tennis lessons once a week and I think are enjoying the time off, but soon basketball starts so it won't last.  Easton however, wants to play soccer all the time. He really wants to be goalie next year when they move up a division.  I don't know if the coach will let him just be goalie though since he scores so much every game!  I guess all that rough housing with his brothers has taught him a thing or two about scraping for a ball! Easton is not afraid to get in their and fight!

I don't care what the boys play or don't play as long as they do something they love.  For now, this s is it!
