My Kitchen is on Fire!!

Ok! So it is Sunday evening and I am making dinner like every other ordinary day. There is only about 18 minutes left on the timer and as I walk by the oven I smell something funny. I think to myself, "I hope that is not my chicken!" I couldn't place the smell so I took a peek in the oven and saw flames! I closed the oven and told Jeremy that the oven was on fire. He ran and grabbed the fire extinguisher and headed for the oven. I yelled at him to wait until I got my chicken out. After the chicken was safely out of the way, Jeremy let loose on the fire extinguisher. It was lucky for us that it was a nice evening and we were able to open every door and window in the house. The boys and I went next door to visit the neighbors while the house aired out. Upon returning, we fed the kids sandwiches outside. Fire is not a funny thing, but this was such a small contained thing that we probably didn't need the extinguisher, turning the oven off and closing the door probably would've done the job, but I think Jeremy has been wanting to use that thing. Now he wants to get four more to place throughout the house. This was definitely one of those moments that you look back on and laugh. We laughed during this one as well. I want to go on the record saying this is not typical of of my cooking abilities but I did take the opportunity to tell Jeremy that I should not have the responsibility of cooking anymore!! I will leave it up to the real chef's in our family.

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Yes, it is my birthday today and don't you dare ask how old I am! My kids will freely tell you though, they think it is so funny to tell everyone they meet. Davis wanted to tell the checker at the grocery store last night. He meant well, he really did. I thought of what I wanted for my birthday this year and really couldn't think of anything. I feel so blessed and grateful for all I have. So for my birthday I want to thank my family for the great life they give me.

Jeremy- He works hard for us everyday and despite the pressure he is under at work, comes home and continues to work. Whatever needs to be done, he does it. He is great at laundry and dishes and is quite the organizer. I feel so blessed to have a husband who is not afraid of housework! Did I mention how handy he is? It surprises me sometimes what he is able to do. I dream up the projects and he always finds a way to make them happen. He is a great husband. I am not the easiest person to live with but he loves me in spite of me and for that he deserves a medal!

Cade- He is the calming influence among the kids. Cade is a boy who always wants to do what is right. He is a great example to his brothers and a good leader as well. Cade has always been an obedient child and Jeremy and I say he tricked us into thinking parenting was so easy that we had a couple more. Cade is a very talented artist and we are so proud of him.

Davis- I can't even begin to explain Davis unless you have met him. This child is the most love able, caring soul I have ever met. He is always thinking about how other people feel and wants to help them. He has a perma grin on his face and has a little skip about him because he is always so happy. It is hard not to be happy around Davis. His heart is as big they come. He loves to give hugs and knows how to put a smile on your face. I hope everyone has a Davis in their lives!

Easton- Well, life without Easton would be very boring! He is very spunky and gives us a lot of entertainment. He has so much character in his little body. He is a stubborn boy and is at times our biggest challenge but also one of our greatest sources of joy. He is a bundle of energy and very funny. We truly enjoy him and need him in our family.

Out on another walk with the boys

The weather has been pretty nice here this winter. We have had our moments of cold spells but for the most part, it has been nice enough for the boys to go on a walk with Jeremy once a week. Why am I not on these walks? Hey, I have to stay home and blog for all you readers. It is a tough job, but someone has to do it. Here are some of the lateset pictures. The boys love to go skip rocks in the ponds by the golf course.

Valentines Day Tag

Jeremy and Rebecca 1999

I read this on Jaime's blog and thought it was cute. "If you read this you're tagged" I'm going to do it! Also I'm passing on the request...
IF YOU READ IT, YOU ARE IT! Here's how mine goes..

Questions about your Valentine:

HIS NAME: Jeremy John Holdstock

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MARRIED? Eight years.

HOW LONG DID YOU DATE? We started dating shortly after the 4th of July and were married on Dec. 18th.

HOW OLD IS HE? 31

WHO EATS MORE? our kids

WHO SAID "I LOVE YOU" FIRST? He did, I never would have even if I felt it first. He was very shy though. it took him almost two months to hold my hand!

WHO IS TALLER? he is

WHO IS SMARTER? Depends who you ask. He is more educated.

WHO SINGS BETTER? We both equally suck!

WHOSE TEMPER IS WORSE? Mine- what can I say I have a VERY short fuse.

WHO DOES THE DISHES? I load, he unloads.

WHO DOES THE LAUNDRY? Mostly Jeremy

WHO SLEEPS ON THE RT. SIDE OF THE BED? Me. I prefer to move around and would like to change up once in a while but he is strict about routines. I never thought about sides before, I just go where I am comfortable. I could sleep anywhere, but he is insitant on having "his" side.

WHO PAYS THE BILLS? I always have. I tell him, I could rob him blind, so he is trying to learn

WHO MOWS THE LAWN? Mostly him, unless I need to get some time away from the kids and have him watch the boys!

WHO COOKS DINNER? Me. He pretends not to be able to cook. I don't understand how he can do whatever it is he does at work but not be able to read a reciepe but he claims he can't!

WHO DRIVES WHEN YOU'RE TOGETHER? He does..I'm very traditional that way..

WHO IS MORE STUBBORN? It really depends on the issue..But I'm going to call it a tie.

WHO IS THE FIRST TO ADMIT FAULT? he is

WHOSE PARENTS DO YOU SEE THE MOST? Mine. My parents come out at least 4 times a year. We have seen his paretns about 4 times since we have been in Texas.

WHO PROPOSED? He did.. he was dressed in a suit because he had just come from his friends wedding and picked me up to go to the reception. I told him we needed to pick up my friend Mandy for the reception. He said he had to go get something for his mom and I was irritated because we were going to be late! (I kinda of get high strung about being on time.) he drove to the top of this hill overlooking the Bountiful temple, the sun was setting and as he opened the door to let me out, a flock of birds flew over us as if on cue! It was teh sweetest, most romantic moment. I didn't mind being late after that!

WHO HAS MORE FRIENDS? Me. meeting people is not Jeremy's thing. He has put me in charge of PR for our family. He tells me to go make the friends and he interacts with them. I can go talk to anyone anywhere!!!

WHO HAS MORE SIBLINGS? Jeremy. He is one of 5. I am 1 of 2!

WHO WEARS THE PANTS IN THE FAMILY? Easton. Everyone in our family will tell you. Actually, when it comes to decisions, I would say Jeremy because he has more opinions about everything than I do.

New Photos

It has been a while since I have taken the three boys in for pictures together so I thought it was about time. I usually take them each in once a year for their birthday pictures, but as they have gotten older and more involved in things, it is harder to remember. Sat. was the big day. We had so many good pictures that it was really hard to choose which ones to post. So there will be three new postings. This one is all three, then Cade, and Davis will each have their own. Their birthdays are in Oct. and Dec. but I am just that behind. So enjoy....
