And school begins again!

The boys in their new school jammies
Cade getting his Father's blessing the night before school starts
First day of school (8/23/10)
Easton 1st grade (age 6)
Cade 4th grade (age 9)
Davis 3rd grade (age 8)
The boys with Foster before leaving for school
ready to go!
I love to watch them walk to school, but watching them go down the hill is the best part. Some days they run but on the first day it was crowded so they just walked.
The boys about to enter school. You can tell by the look on Easton's face, he is tired of pictures. Jeremy followed them the whole way snapping pictures.
Easton walking down to his class. He was just about to his door.
Easton and Mrs. Keys. We love her. Davis had her for first grade. It is going to be a great year for him!
Davis got right to work.
Cade looks a little annoyed. He thinks he is too old for us to walk him to class. I told him it is for us not him, just deal with it!
It was a great day for all except Foster who missed the boys like crazy. The older boys all have wonderful teachers and are enjoying being back into things again. Now that sports are starting and activities, our nice quiet summer lives come to an end and the craziness begins.

A fun filled week!

On Monday we went to Lagoon.
On Tuesday we went to BYU and the MTC.
Cade was so excited to visit the BYU campus.
After, we met our cousins at the Bingham Copper Mine. It was the third really big hole in the ground we saw on our vacation!
Cade and Mitchell enjoyed spending time together.
Wednesday we visited the University of Utah campus for Jeremy, Davis, and Easton.
Later we met the cousins at This is the Place for a fun filled soaked afternoon. We had so much fun at each of the activities. It rained on us and for a while we had to take shelter in the mud huts. It is a day we will never forget.
We were lucky enough to see Elder Dallin H. Oaks there and he was kind enough to take a picture with us. I think this was Jeremy's favorite part of vacation.
The kids at the end of the day.
Our family at Temple Square on Thursday
Rebecca, Jeremy, Davis, and Cade waiting to go on top of the Church Office Building
Thursday evening we went camping with everyone at a cabin. Uncle Everett cutting wood for our fire.
Roasting marshmellows at night. I think we still have burned marshmellow on some of our shoelaces!!
The cousins before going on a hike
This is the way I like to camp. Indoors and in beds! I was downstairs with Cade, Davis, Easton, Foster, Sam, and Mitchell. The boys stayed up until one on the morning and were up way too early for me!
No trip to Utah would be complete without a visit to the Statue of Liberty! Yes, you heard me. The neighbors of the Breese's (where I used to live) have a statue in their front yard. It made it easy giving people directions: go to the statue of Liberty and turn!! On our last Friday we had a BBQ with some of our friends the Duncans and the Farmers. Our boys had a great time playing with their kids even thought all the other kids were GIRLS (except baby Kellen!). We wish we had more time to visit with them and catch up more. It is fun to see old friends and even more exciting to watch all the kids grow up. We were worn out by the end of the week. On Saturday we had the big reunion that we had come to town for. I will post that in another post. It was a great week but we were so tired by the time we finally made it home. I am just glad we still had a few weeks before we had to start school.

We made it to Utah!

Our third state on our trip! We finally made it into Utah after a little detour and scenic route coming from the Grand Canyon. Let's just say Jeremy disagreed with the GPS and we added some time to our trip!
After making it to Utah we decided to stay home ALL day Sat. The boys had fun getting to know their cousins and playing at Grandma's house.
We had a nice BBQ that evening
We filled up the whole yard!
The boys had a great time playing basketball. Davis could have done this all week!
On Sunday we went for a nice walk at Lagoon. The boys were skipping rocks and playing. Clayton's soccer ball went into the water and floated across the pond.Jeremy and Clayton wading into the water to retrieve the ball. It doesn't look that bad, but the water was GROSS! AAH, memories!

Stop #3- Grand Canyon

Easton using binoculars to see if anyone lives at the bottom of the Grand Canyon
Our family the Grand Canyon 7/10
Jeremy, Cade, and Davis on a ledge that scared me!
Our next stop was the Grand Canyon. We stopped for the night and Bud and Granny came up to visit us. The boys thought it was fun to be able see them and it was a nice break from the car! The Grand Canyon was incredible. I can't believe I lived in Arizona all those years and never went there. It was amazing, I just wish there were more railings! I was a bit nervous the whole time, especially when Jeremy took the older boys out for a scenic picture!

Stop #2

The first of the state signs we passed. In total, this trip took us through 8 different states.
Second state. It didn't take us long to drive through New Mexico, although it was a bad time to try to find a hotel at night. There was some sort of conference in town the night we were passing through. The same thing happened to us on our way home coming through Colorado!

Stop #2- Meteor Crater in Winslow AZ
The boys touching the meteor. I was expecting it to be more rocky but it was hard and metal. It was a very interesting stop.

The boys standing in front of the hole made from when the meteor hit the ground.
Easton had a great time!
Jeremy standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona!!
