I'm Batman!!

The other night after the boys had been put to bed and Jeremy went off to his meeting, I was watching the news when Easton came into my room and declared, "look mom, I'm Batman!" He was grinning so big and just so happy to be showing me his costume and acted like it was no problem at all that he was not in bed asleep. So what is a mother to do? I grabbed my camera and took pictures (which probably just encourages such behavior but they are only young once!)

C,D,E, and now F

Well we have this weird tradition in our family that our kids have to be alphabetical and have been stuck on E for the past four years. We shyed away from having another child because what kind of names are there that start with FA (that's another part of the pattern, I know even wierder). Last Sunday we added a new family member and when we couldn't think of a name we used creative spelling to get over our hump. Welcome to the Holdstock family... Fantom, our new dog. We have wanted one for a year or so and the boys and my aunt have prayed for us to find the right one. We love having him and it seems like he has been with us forever already and it has only been a week. Now that we got over the F, who knows what will happen!!

Weekend Visitor

When we went to Houston for Spring Break, my boys fell in love with my uncle's dog Gunnar. The boys were so excited because my aunt called and came up to visit for the weekend and she brought Gunnar. When they got here, the boys were so excited that they didn't know what to! They had the best time, running at the park and playing in the backyard. My aunt was so nice that she brought up some paints and let the boys do art in the yard too. They boys are already planning their next trip to visit Gunnar.

Ben 10 Alien Force

For those of you who do not have boys, let me tell you about Ben 10. He is a boy who has a watch which lets him turn into different aliens to fight bad guys. Ben 10 is a major thing around here and for the last month they have been advertising the newest Ben 10 movie (on cartoon network). That is all I have heard about and all the kids could think about so we decided to have a Ben 10 alien force party. With Cade and Davis and their friends, Easton, Jeremy, and I, we had 10! We made pizzas, ate cupcakes and watched the show. The best part was that during the commercials we would mute the tv and ask questions about the girls at school. At first no one was talking, but eventually one of them squealed on the other and then they all started telling on each other! I loved it. I hope as they grow, they continue to tell on each other like that!! It was fun and nice that all three of our boys felt a part of it.

Snow day in Texas

Last Monday (April 14th) the boys were out of school for a "snow day" which was scheduled but since we had no snow, we spent the day at the park flying kites. Did I say how much I love living in Texas????

Update on doors

Before: an open formal dining room
Under construction
Final (almost, needs to be painted) product

Some of you asked for updates back in Jan when Jeremy started working on our French doors. He had to wall off an open room and put the doors in. While the project is not quite finished (we still have to paint), he has done a terrific job. Four months might seem like a long time but when you consider he has a full time and some time even overtime job, three young boys with busy schedule themselves, and me as a wife who is always coming up with little side projects that HAVE to be done in any spare time he might have. I have to say, I am so impressed with what he was able to accomplish!
